What is the Low Altitude Economy (LAE)?
The Low Altitude Economy refers to the emerging economic ecosystem centred around activities, businesses, and services conducted at altitudes below 1,000-3,000 meters above ground level. This sector is primarily driven by advancements in drone technology and the concept of Advanced Air Mobility (AAM).
Introduction
Welcome to the second edition of the Low Altitude Economy (LAE) Forum × Aviation Week Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) Awards 2026—the premier one-day program bringing together leading innovators, operators, regulators, and investors to shape the next frontier of aviation.
Co-organised by Super Terminal Expo (STE), Aviation Week, and Hong Kong International Aviation Academy, this gathering showcases cutting-edge technology, policy frameworks, and best-in-class achievements in the emerging AAM ecosystem, all hosted in Hong Kong—Asia’s epicenter for low-altitude economy innovation.

The Aviation Week Advanced Air Mobility Awards 2026, held in association with the STE Low Altitude Economy Forum, enters its second year as the industry’s definitive benchmark for excellence across the global Advanced Air Mobility ecosystem.
Building on the success of its inaugural edition, the 2026 awards celebrate the innovations, organizations and leaders driving the AAM sector’s evolution from pioneering trials to commercial-scale operations. Presented by Aviation Week, a leading voice that has convened aviation’s key players for over a century, the awards are evaluated by an independent panel of sector leaders, regulators, and technical specialists across five key areas: technology development, commercial deployment, infrastructure enablement, public engagement, and policy advancement.
